Daniel Rata was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia to pursue his musical career.
Daniel’s talents have led him to collaborate with award-winning musicians and producers including British Grammy nominated producer John Ravenhall, who works with the biggest names in the music industry: Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Rod Stewart and Van Morrison.
Free of conformity, Daniel is a unique and gifted musician with a superbly rich and bold vocal tone.
As a singer-songwriter Daniel has produced a broad repertoire of original songs. Working with renowned international producers and musicians across his already existing album “Suspended in Time” and his two EPs “Life” and “Sunshine”, Daniel continues to develop a distinctive style.
This summer brings big things with the launch of his brand new EP entitled “Forever Us”, along with the production of a music video to accompany the title track. Daniel will release his single “Forever Us” from the EP in 2019.
Daniel’s international exposure continued in Cannes, France at the MIDEM Music Festival, where he began collaborating with top UK producer John Ravenhall. Whilst in London Daniel wrote and recorded with Ravenhall several European pop-styled tracks. Inspired, his travels took him further on this pathway to Aarhus, Denmark, where he co-wrote three tracks with prestigious producer and Eurovision Song Contest winner John Gordon.
Daniel then voyaged to the US recording two EP’s “Life” and “Sunshine” at Pressure Point Studios in Chicago. Here he collaborated with Orchestrator Carey Deadman, the Broadway regular who plays with Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, Sting, Billy Joel, Seal, Michael Buble’ and Celine Dion. Daniel also teamed up with Sound Engineer Larry Sturm, whose lengthy discography includes work with Destiny’s Child, Ministry and Diddy.
Daniel’s EP’s “Sunshine” and “Life”, featuring the talents of the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra, achieved regular radio rotation in the USA.
“Forever Us”, Daniel’s third EP speaks of his authentic and bountiful creativity, together with his effortless poise and restraint exhibiting command of his artistry.
With a strong passion for the creativity of his own culture, Daniel was destined to become an artist.
